No one wants a PS3 anymore!

fozi999 took this picture saying
"With a day until the PS3 launches in Europe the Newcastle Virgin Megastore
still has 72 left to pre-order. Is there any point? And I still can't get a
Wii. "
With a Pal system around $800, less HDTVs than the US, No games to desire or BD movies to own, seriously, why would you buy one?
Tell me people if I'm missing something here.

Bro, I am sorry to say that but you are a Nintendo fanboy.
Look at your topics it always has Nintendo in it.

I am not against a Nintendo but who are you trying to convince that you are not a Fanboy.
Let me guess, yourself.

If you hate PS3 as you hate Xbox, then just go to Nintendo don't try to convince yourself that Nintendo is better, cause Sony is making games for PS3 and Wii at the same time, you might think they are competitors which actually they are but not against each other, they are against The giant titan Microsoft who is losing and still carrying on.

Here in Australia, we had number of games on launch day and number of movies ranging from 2004 till late 2006. People here started pre-ordering but they are still angry, as a community, about Sony saying that Australia is not a gaming market. Just relax until they satisfy their anger and you will see, I promise you that.

Hello Mr. flogger.
No, I am not a nintendo fanboy. I'm actually an HR & Finance manager with past marketing experience. What I see Sony doing is huge mistakes that show poor judgment.
They only thing that stopped me from getting a US PS3 was the demand (back then) on them. Whats stopping me from getting one now is my view for an uncertain future for it.

But thanks for stopping by again! :)

I'm very glad sony are falling flat on their face with the P$3. I have always liked them but recently they have been going too far. The arrogant way they declared that "the next generation starts when we release the P$3" really annoyed me. Its overdue, overpriced, over complex and underwhelming.

I personally own a Wii and have every intention of getting a 360 when Microsoft drop the price and put the final nail in sony's coffin. Im still not 100% that the Wii can live up to its potential but with the ammount of fun contained in games like zelda and Wii sports im betting it will still be more fun than anything on P$3

Hi Anon,
In one of my older posts, I said the exact same thing. Sony is arrogant now.
Nintendo were that one day and they lost big. Its Sony's turn. Read: http://redbelt.blogspot.com/2006/11/nextgen-war-forcasts-wii-vs-ps3-vs-x360.html
There is a good discussion about the future of things going on at Leen Manga: http://leenmanga.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3789

Have a look!

360 losing.... are u kidding me?

Redbelt said...

360 isn't losing
Its not gaining much in Japan, but its not losing yet.
360 needs Japan if it ever wants to attract the Japanese developers.

the 360 is thriving. only japan poses problems with that, and as we all know, japan isn't the only country in the world that has gamers. as a gamer, i don't need japan, nor do i want japan. the vast majority of japanese games turn me off. all i care about is that the 360 is successful in the US and keeps providing the games i love. that it has done and continues to do so.
the ps3 is a huge disappointment, and there are a lot more reasons to own a 360 right now which includes dev support, better services, better graphics and performance, and a better pricepoint. wii isn't in the equation for me this generation since i don't consider it a next-gen system.

Son of Zues, spot on. the 360 is very alive and well. I'm glad your enjoying it. Still, don't rule out Japanese developers. History states that the system with Final Fantasy on it lives and dominates. NES, SNES, PS1, PS2. FF (& RPGs in general) make the japanese buy the system. Which will result in resident evils, tekkens and everything else.
Blue dragon for the X360 did wonders in Japan. Now you have Ace combat and DMC heading to Xbox migrating from the Sony side. FF is developed on an openware system which makes it very easy to shift to 360 or be non exclusive at least. Its looking good for 360.
As for the Wii, even though it's not a "main" system yet, but get friends over and play one. Trust me you will love it.

Personally, at this point in time, most of the consoles are just not worth buying. I am a PC gamer though so that might be part of it. Except for the Wii for Zelda and some of the features like downloading old NES and SNES games and Xbox 360 for Gears of War, I really don't see a reason to buy any of the consoles.

Anon,
PC gamers and console gamers differ greatly. That might be the reason for your lack of enthusiasm for the next gens.

360 is awesome although I modded mine to keep it under 80 degrees f. It runs around 110 degrees with the stock fans which can't be good for long term gaming. Ps3 was supposed to be this wicked machine and it has the potential to be an awesome system but what sony fail to realize is that not everybody owns a $3000 tv or wants to spend $200 over microsofts price to own a lesser console. Ps3 may have bluray but 360 has better graphics performance period. I'm also an avid pc gamer but fewer and fewer releases for pc are worth playing lately. That said, nintendo's console is outselling both sony and microsoft plus it can hook to your current tv. Nintendo may well win this race.

It was like that in swansea too, 30 still available in HMV for preorder, and on the day itself GAME had them still on the shelves for anyone to get

Consoles are generally for stupid people who don't know that PC gaming is better in almost every way. You can argue all day till you're blue in the face, but PC is better and will continue to be better.

The only exception in next-gen is the Wii, because you can't really get that experience on a PC (yet...).

To the anon directly before me:
"better" is a word with no tangible meaning. That means different people will have different definitions for "better". That being said, it does NOT mean that your definition is correct and everyone else's is wrong and "STUPID". You just succedded at proving that your rude and intolerant of other opinions.
To the Anon with the modded X360: Thats cool! (no pun intended, really!) I didn't know you could do that. I hated Xbox (the Original), but 360 doesn't sound bad. It actually sounds pretty neat to me now despite my hate to Microsoft. As for the Wii, its like the ipod. See, Most cell phones play MP3 files in addition to alot of other things (like the PS3 or X360, play games and other things), yet people still buy Ipods (or here, the Wii) because its easy to use, supported well and just darn cute!

listen ppl, nintendo is all nice and dandy, but u all who think sony is being an idiot, are seriusly mistaken, sony has games like MGS4, RESIDENT EVIL 5, FINALfantasy, just like nintendo has their crap line, but remember this TECHNOLOGY COMES AT A PRICE! thats why ps3 is expensive, (BEST VIDEO CARD AVAILABLE on a system) and anyway Wii is just a gamecube that took numchuck lessons anyway(novelty toy!)

Anonymous said...

actually the graphics card is better in the 360, it was supposed to be a better one in the ps3 but because they wanted to get the thing done they settled for an available one from nvidia which is less advanced than the one in the 360

Anonymous said...

the 360 has the much better graphics card and more ram than the ps3
the 360 is called the Xenos. which is a power house card and the ps3 is the rsx an older card by nivdia
and the games on 360 are crazy and better too come
